Mini-islands tour pier, Nicaragua
1998
This
little boat took my Mom, my aunt and myself on a tour around some of the
Mini island (Isletas in Spanish), located on the Northwest shore of Lake
of Nicaragua. The origin of the islands came from the Mombacho's volcano
fiercest eruptions. Huge chunk of rocks were thrown in the air with such
an awesome power that they ended several miles away from its source and
into the lake. They formed more than 300 rock groups and over the years
soil brought by the wind settled and after that vegetation started to flourish
and you know the rest. |
